Insurance and Fees
Insurance
We believe therapy should be accessible to everyone. That’s why we are proud to offer mental health services that are both affordable and insurance-friendly. Our intake specialist will promptly verify your insurance benefits so you can begin working with your therapist at your very first session - whether in person or virtually via telehealth.
Downers Grove Counseling and Wellness therapists are in-network with Aetna, Allegiance, AllSavers, Anthem, ASR, Blue Choice PPO, Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO, Cigna/Evernorth, GEHA, Gravie, Health Partners, Meritain, Nippon, Oscar, Oxford, Priority Health, Surest, TriWest, UnitedHealthcare/Optum, UnitedHealthcare Student Resources, and UMR commercial insurance plans.
If you choose to use your insurance benefits, we will submit claims on your behalf. Please note: We do not accept EAP benefits.
If your insurance plan is not listed above, we may be considered an out-of-network (OON) provider. For OON clients, we can provide a Superbill for you to submit directly to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.
If you prefer to verify your benefits independently, please call the Member Services number on the back of your insurance card. Our Tax ID is 87-4278538. When speaking with your insurance provider, we recommend asking about your deductible, copay or coinsurance, any limits on the number of sessions, and whether your mental health benefits are managed by a third-party.
Self-Pay Fees (Effective January 1, 2026)
• Individual Intake Session: $200
• Couples/Family Intake Session: $225
• Individual Therapy Session: $175
• Couples/Family Therapy Session: $200
Therapy sessions typically run 45-55 minutes in length. In compliance with the No Surprises Act, we will provide a Good Faith Estimate to clients who choose not to use insurance benefits.
Payment
Therapy is an investment in yourself. Billing and payment for services at Downers Grove Counseling and Wellness are completed via Stripe in our client portal. Session fees, when applicable, are charged at the time of service. Charges will appear as Downers Grove Counseling and Wellness or DGCW PLLC on your statement.
Late Cancellation/No-Show Policy
Your appointment time is reserved specifically for you. We kindly ask for 48 hours’ notice if you are unable to attend your scheduled appointment. Missed sessions delay our work together, and late cancellations typically prevent us from offering the appointment to another client.
A non-refundable $125 fee will be assessed for appointments canceled without adequate notice or for no-shows. Limited exceptions due to emergencies may be made at the discretion of the practice.
